BROOKINGS – Due to the continuing drought, Brookings Municipal Utilities needs to restrict the use of water for irrigating at the Douglas Chittick Community Gardens in Brookings, the City of Brookings announced Monday.
Effective Monday, July 19, watering will only be allowed at the community gardens from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday and from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
“Compliance with these water restrictions is necessary to assure the health and safety of the community,” the city press release said.
