VOLGA – West Central topped Sioux Valley 25-17, 26-24, 14-25 and 25-13 in a volleyball match Monday.
“The Cossacks played with energy tonight and our wins from the Pentagon on Saturday really carried over with the confidence level that we started the match with,” said SV coach Jill Vincent. “We have struggled finding the right mix of players so we can have a block up and play defense around that block and the girls have really been receptive to those changes and are really working on being supportive and playing for each other each ball.
“Tonight our blockers were really working hard and getting some touches on their hits, and now we need to work on defensive coverage around that.
“Kasey Pistulka has had over 25 digs each match out the past five and it is really great to have her back from her injury earlier in the season. She is our motor and makes us run.”
Pistulka tallied 28 digs versus the Trojans.
Rylan Willis recorded 15 kills.
WC’s Cassidy Siemonsma had 11 kills and 18 digs.
Sioux Valley (8-9) is at Flandreau on Thursday.
