YANKTON – Yankton swept Brookings in bowling Friday at Yankton Family Fun Center, winning the boys’ match 37-13 and the girls’ match 29.5-19.5.
Carter Hieb paced the Bobcat boys with a 692 series, rolling games of 161, 242 and 289. Alex Couser added a 634 (201-248-185) series, Mason McManus at 531 (200-176-155), Evan Vernarsky a 514 (172-176-166) and Lee Krueger a 466 (208-120-138). Stanley Scubelek contributed a 150 game and Aarick Dicke added a 142.
For the girls, Kyra Ernst rolled a 518 (128-217-173) series. Brooklyn Hieb added a 435 (145-113-177), Ellie Fitzpatrick a 373 (104-122-147) and Abby Fitzpatrick a 334 (124-98-112) series. Alison Marshall tallied games of 122 and 124, while Katlyn Pederson chipped in with a 134.
Brookings won the junior varsity girls matchup 24-0. Pederson had a 146 game, Brooke Seeley a 121 and Marshall a 113.
The Bucks took the JV boys match 46-1. Gabe Boyer had a 336 (133-84-119) series, David Eberline a 290 (107-91-92) and Travis Block a 275 (118-90-67). Scubelek notched games of 147 and 159, and Dicke added a 152.
The Bobcats play host to Sioux Falls Washington on Friday at 4 p.m. at Prairie Lanes.
