BROOKINGS – Yankton shot 340 to win a five-team girls’ golf tournament on Tuesday at Brookings Country Club.
Brandon Valley was second at 346, followed by Sioux Falls Lincoln (395) in third.
The host Bobcats carded a team score of 397 to take fourth. Sioux Falls Washington (409) finished fifth.
The Gazelles’ Morgan Strahl carded a 5-over-par 77 to earn medalist honors.
The Lynx’s Liz Duncan was runner-up at 6-over 78.
Yankton’s Peyton Tramp (82) and Brandon Valley’s Hannah Deville (87) were third and fourth, respectively.
Yankton’s Morgan Sundleaf, Brandon Valley’s Julia Andresen and Lincoln’s Margaret Meierhenry tied for fifth at 89.
Nicole Steen paced Brookings with a 90, putting her in eighth place.
Morgan Herold and Ashton Austreim tied for 19th with 101s.
Paige Mahlke ended up 23rd with a 105 to complete the team tally.
Also for the Bobcats, senior Macey Fields (106) took 24th and Janaya Kuehl (112) 28th.
The Mitchell Invitational is Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Lakeview.
