Arlington boys fall Waverly-South Shore

ARLINGTON — The Arlington boys’ basketball team fell to Waverly-South Shore 56-25 on Monday night.

Both teams scored seven points in the first quarter. WSS then outscored Arlington 11-4 in the second quarter. The Coyotes then had a strong third quarter and took a 39-16 lead heading into the fourth. WSS had a 17-9 advantage in the final quarter.

The Cardinals shot 22.9% from the field and were 2-of-18 from three. Paxton Rheault led Arlington with 12 points and nine rebounds. 

The Coyotes shot 40.7% from the field and were 7-of-19 from three. WSS was led by Zach Ries who had 16 points and eight rebounds. Sam Appelholf had 11 points. Colton Kranz, Bradyn Eschen and Austin Hovitek each had six points. Hovitek also had eight rebounds.

WSS had a 28-21 advantage in rebounds. The Coyotes had 13 turnovers and the Cardinals had 17. WSS was 5-of-9 at the free throw line and Arlington was 1-of-3.

Arlington dropped to 1-10 and hosts Deubrook Area on Thursday at 7:45 p.m.
