BRANDON — The Brookings Bobcats competitive cheer and dance teams competed at the ESD meet at Brandon Valley High School on Thursday night.
The Brookings competitive cheer team finished second at the conference meet, trailing conference champion Harrisburg (290.00) with a score of 271 points.
The Bobcats had scores of 92, 91 and 88 from the three judges with no deductions.
Watertown finished third in cheer with a score of 269.50 while Tea Area finished fourth with a score of 239.00 and Mitchell finished fifth with a score of 225.00.
The Brookings dance team finished in 10th place in grand champion with a score 201.50. The Bobcats also finished seventh in pom with a score of 201.0 and seventh in hip hop with a score of 202.0.
Brandon Valley was ESD grand champion with a score of 270.75 while Harrisburg finished second with a score of 265.75, Yankton finished third with a score of 260.50, Aberdeen Central finished fourth with a score of 232.50 and Pierre finished fifth with a score of 229.00.
Brandon Valley was ESD champion in pom with a score of 268.5 and jazz with a score of 273. Harrisburg won the conference title in hip hop with a score of 269.0.
The Bobcats’ season will conclude when they compete in the Class AA State Competitive Cheer and Dance Competition at Summit Arena at The Monument in Rapid City on Oct. 25-26.
