HURON — The Brookings girls’ golf team came in fifth place in the Huron Invitational at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron on Thursday.
The Bobcats had a team score of 369. Aberdeen Central won the tournament with a score of 301. Mitchell came in second (324), Rapid City Stevens came in third (344) and O’Gorman finished in fourth (351).
Josie Bertrand was the top finisher for the Bobcats and she came in 14th with a score of 86. Tafney Lunn came in 17th (89). Aubrey Knutzen and Carmen Bertrand each had a score of 97 and came in 27th and 28th, respectively. Madeline Enderson finished in 37th (115).
Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun won the tournament with a four-under 68. Aberdeen’s Kyle Wirebaugh also shot under par with a 70. Aberdeen’s Emma Dohrer came in third, Mitchell’s Anna Elaison finished in fourth (78) and Mitchell’s Mia Larson rounded out the top five (79).
Brookings plays in the Yankton Invitational on Friday at 10 a.m. at Fox Run Golf Course.
