MITCHELL — The Brookings cross country teams competed in the Eastern South Dakota Conference Meet on Saturday at Wild Oak Country Club.
The Bobcat boys finished in fifth with 156 points. Shane Harming led the way and he finished in 20th with a time of 16:55.91. Dylan Haar came in 25th (17:07.76) and Marco Springman came in 32nd (17:15.76). Jack Bierman finished in 39th (17:39.37) and Kuddyer Baugher came in 43rd (17:47.73). Wyatt Cooley came in 47th (17:52.90) and Garret Ysbrand finished in 67th (19:05.72). Weston Baker was the final competitor for the ‘Cats and he came in 75th (19:51.00).
Brandon Valley won on the boys’ side with 43 points. Aberdeen Central came in second (57) and Harrisburg finished in third (80). Yankton came in fourth (92).
Brandon Valley’s Mikah Peters won the individual portion with a time of 15:10.16. Aberdeen Central’s Carson Urlacher came in second (15:49.31) and Pierre’s Caleb Morris came in third (15:57.87). Watertown’s Dane Stark finished in fourth (15:58.82) and Brandon Valley’s Asher Selness came in fifth (16:01.50).
The girls came in seventh with 161 points. Kaylie Kuehl was the top finisher for the Bobcats and she came in 14th (19:13.32). Aubrey Cooley came in 36th (20:20.66) and Jordyn Johnson came in 39th (20:39.39). Isabel Overby finished in 41st (20:52.14) and Maisie Mogard came in 44th (21:06.68). Sofia Gonzalez finished in 56th (21:59.96).
Harrisburg won the girls’ side with 31 points. Brandon Valley came in second (59) and Yankton finished in third (104), Pierre came in fourth (112) and Tea Area came in fifth (130).
Harrisburg had the top two finishers in Brianna Reilly (16:53.33) and Hannah Genrich (17:10.95). Tea Area’s Jaycie Babb came in third (18:15.39) and Brandon Valley’s Emily Curran came in fourth (18:29.74). Harrisburg’s Eloise Scharnberg rounded out the top five (18:39.44).
Brookings has one more competition before the State Meet as the Bobcats will compete in the Roger Loecker Invite in Huron on Thursday.
