TEA — The Brookings Bobcats picked up another win as they defeated Tea 3-1 on Tuesday night.
The Bobcats won the first two sets of the match by scores of 25-19 and 25-15 before dropping the third set 25-20. Brookings rebounded for a 25-19 win to close the match in four sets.
Macy Even led the way offensively for the Bobcats, racking up 24 kills in the win. Lydia Walker had 11 kills for Brookings, Arielle Ferrell had four kills, Kymber Buys had three, Lily Thompson had two, and Tess Burns had one.
Burns also had two aces in the win while Buys, Morgan Norgaard, Logan Smidt and Kamryn Streich each had one ace.
Buys led Brookings with 17 assists while Streich had 16 assists. Norgaard had three assists, Walker had two assists and Smidt and Ferrell each had one assist.
Norgaard had 21 digs for Brookings. Even had 19 digs. Smidt had 13 digs. Streich and Buys had 10 digs each. Burns had eight digs. Walker had three digs. Ferrell had two digs and Thompson had one dig.
The Bobcats had six blocks in the match. Burns had two blocks. Buys had 1.5 blocks. Ferrell had a block and Thompson had 0.5 blocks.
The Bobcats improved to 4-3 with the win and will return to action when they take part in the Rapid City Volleyball Tournament beginning with a match against Lead-Deadwood at 4 p.m. Friday.
