BROOKINGS — The Brookings Bobcats won their first dual of the year as part of a triangular against Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Sioux Falls Washington at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts on Friday morning.
The Bobcats have a dual record of 1-10 and will host a triangular against Rapid City Central and Watertown at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts beginning Friday at 3 p.m.
The Bobcats split the six singles matches including Tanner’s win over Emma Engel. Yuki Zhu defeated Kristen Schuleter 10-1 and Lada Senchanka defeated Hazel Pederson 10-5.
Anika Hooda lost to Abby Paulsen 10-9 with a 10-8 tiebreaker, Alison Glover lost to Vada Jacoby 10-8 and Gent lost to Riplie Petersen 10-7.
Tanner and Hooda defeated Engel and Paulsen 10-1 in doubles action. Zhu and Senchenka also defeated Schuleter and Petersen 10-3.
Glover and Gent lost to Pederson and Jacoby 10-3.
Tanner and Zhu earned wins in singles action for the Bobcats. Tanner defeated Madelyn Dahlmeier 10-6 while Zhu defeated Emma Hensley 10-2.
The Bobcats also got a win in the doubles matches as Zhu and Senchanka defeated Hensley and Allyson Corp 10-6.
In other singles action, Hooda lost to Elizabeth Morgans 10-5; Glover lost to Alivia Dahlmeier 10-1; Senchanka lost to Corp 10-0; and Gent lost to Corrine Cahill 10-0.
Tanner and Hooda lost to Madelyn Dahlmeier and Morgans 10-5 in doubles action. Glover and Gent lost to Alivia Dahlmeier and Cahill 10-2.
