BROOKINGS — The Brookings track and field teams had successful days on Tuesday as they hosted the Bob Coffey Track & Field Meet.
Brookings had eight individual first-place finishers and three relay teams that came in first place.
The Bobcats had four winners on the boys’ side. Alex Wainman came in first place in both the javelin throw, with a throw of 166 feet and one inch, and the high jump, with a jump of six feet. Charlie Bisgard came in first in the long jump (20-10.25).
Cole Hockett came in first in the 400 meter run with a time of 51.33 seconds. Shane Harming won the 1600 meter run (4:41.04).
Jackson Bastemeyer came in second in the 800 (2:09.05). Carson Loehr came in third in the shot put (43-02.50) and Mason Mathis came in third in the javelin (146-07). Joseph Peters came in third in the long jump (18-10.00) and second in the triple jump (38-09.25). Eli Hawks came in third in the triple jump (37-08.00) and Bergan Tetzlaff finished in fifth in the javelin (142-06).\
The relay team of Weston Baker, Jackson Bastemeyer, Marco Springman and Shane Harming finished in third in the 4x400 (3:44.51). Gus Armenta, Ashton Baker, Caden Walsh and Blake Kannegieter came in fourth in the 4x200 (1:35.72).
There were two first-place finishers on the girls’ side for the Bobcats. Kennedy Ronning came in first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.09. Kendis Sackreiter came in first in the shot put (40-09.50) and the discus (117-00).
Brookings had three relay teams that came in first. Nevaeh Strohfus, Grace Vostad, Ava Petterson and Hadley Devine came in first in the 4x100 (51.93). Ella Miller, Tessa Connot, Kalla Foerster and Petterson finished in first in the 4x400 (4:20.85) and Strohfus, Vostad, Connot and Yar Akon came in first in the 4x200 (1:50.23). Joey Bear Hill, Sofia Gonzalez, Shae Lefers and Josie Nold came in fourth in the 4x800 (11:46.48).
Devine came in third in the 100 (13.47) and Vostad came in fifth in the same event (13.47). Connot came in fourth in the 200 (28.84) and Miller came in fifth in the same event (28.90). Kylie Kuehl came in second in the 800 (2:26.49) and Foerster finished in fourth in the same event (2:28.78). Isabel Overby came in fifth in the 1600 (5:59.21) and Brooklyn Ballis finished in fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (18.03).
Logan Smidt came in second in the javelin (115-07) and fourth in the shot put (34-08.75). Clara Delbridge came in third in the javelin (99-00) and fifth in the shot put (33-07.75). Ronning came in third in the pole vault (10-6.00). Rylee Briggs came in third in both the high jump (4-07.00) and the triple jump (32-09.75).
