BROOKINGS — The Brookings Bobcats earned a sweep in their first dual of the season as they hosted McCook Central/Montrose at The Lanes in Brookings on Friday night.
The Bobcats will return to action when they host Tea Area at 4 p.m. on Nov. 15.
Holden Austreim led the way for Brookings rolling a 231 in the first game, 203 in the second game and a 173 in the third game for a score of 607.
Gage Craft was also part of the five bowlers that posted a score of 500 or better rolling a 229, a 176 and a 193 for a total score of 587.
James Tefft rolled a 128 in Game 1, 245 in Game 2 and 214 for a total score of 587; Adrian Howard rolled a 199, 193 and 189 for a total score of 581 and Zaiden Dicke rolled scores of 155, 194 and 176 for a total score of 525.
Riley Owens and Jaiden Monell also rolled above 400 for the Bobcats. Owens had scores of 156, 181 and 135 for a total score of 472 and Monell rolled scores of 167, 139 and 139 for a total score of 445.
Alexis Heib had a team-high 619 series score for Brookings posting game scores of 263, 192 and 184. Hieb’s performance was one of five Bobcats with a series score over 500 as Kacee Rhody came in with a series score of 515 after rolling a 168, a 164 and a 183.
Ava Smith logged a series score of 509 with game scores of 161, 171 and 177. Maddey Austreim rolled a 508 with game scores of 185, 156 and 167. Peyton McBride was the other Brookings bowler to crack the 500 mark, rolling scores of 173, 188 and 140 for a total score of 501.
Haley McBride had a series score of 492 for Brookings, scoring 163, 160 and 169 in her three games. Teagen Bremmon had a series score of 483 with scores of 163, 146 and 174. Ava Bornem had a series score of 441 with individual scores of 115, 170 and 156.
