The Brookings Activity Center is dedicated to offering a wide range of engaging and enriching experiences for adults over age 55. Members stay active, learn something new, and simply have fun with friends.
This past month has been filled with exciting events! Many members have been participating in the center’s exercise classes every Monday and Wednesday morning, led by a certified instructor, and yoga classes every Tuesday and Thursday.
These sessions are designed for all fitness levels and promote healthy aging.
Taking advantage of the beautiful summer weather, the center organized trips to the Edgebrook Golf Course, providing a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned golfers and newcomers to enjoy a day on the greens.
The center embarked on an educational visit to the Civil Air Patrol, where members toured the facilities and learned about the vital role the Civil Air Patrol plays in the community and beyond.
Everyone was impressed by their commitment to service, emergency response and aerospace education.
Looking ahead, the center is planning more exciting programs and outings, with a commitment to offering a diverse range of activities that cater to various interests and abilities.
Members can look forward to more social gatherings, educational trips, and creative workshops. Feel free to contact the center at 605-692-4492 with any questions.
