BROOKINGS — Brookings Area United Way has announced that Dawn Munson was named the organization’s board chair at the annual meeting on March 17. Munson is the operations improvement manager for Falcon Plastics in Brookings. Munson replaces Tevis Holzer from Banner Associates, who has now moved to the past president role on the executive team.

Karen Weber, emergency department director at Brookings Health System, will serve as incoming president while Brittany Kreul, First Bank & Trust, will continue her role as treasurer and Laura Gerjets, Brookings School District, will continue to serve as secretary.

Brookings Area United Way recently named two new members to its board of directors while offering appreciation to those stepping down. Paula Gapp replaced Spencer Degen with Daktronics who served two terms and Jim Burkhardt has replaced Dan Svobodny from Solventum who also served for six years.
