The Brookings Birding Club will hold its May meeting on May 14 at 7 p.m. in the Larson Nature Center at Dakota Nature Park.
The speaker that night will be Bruce Porisch, a nature photographer from Flandreau.
Porisch was born and raised in Minnesota, but now calls South Dakota home after teaching biology and other sciences in Flandreau for 29 years and retiring there in 2009.
He will show some of the bird and nature pictures he has taken over the years, such as the goldfinch pictured above.
The Brookings Birding Club meetings are free and open to all interested people. Also remember, the SDOU meeting is in South Sioux City on May 16-18.
