SIOUX FALLS — The Brookings gymnastics team qualified for the state meet on Saturday as the Bobcats finished in fifth place at the last-chance qualification meet.
The Bobcats had a team score of 140.450. Harrisburg finished in first place with a score of 153.725. Mitchell came in second (148.300), Watertown came in third (144.950) and Sioux Falls Lincoln finished in fourth (142.450).
Kennedy Ronning was the top all around finisher for the Bobcats and she had an all around score of 35.2250, which was tied for 14th. She had a score of 8.550 in the vault and 8.575 in the uneven bars. Ronning had a score of 8.825 in the balance beam and 9.275 in the floor exercise.
Brooklyn Ballis came in 16th in the all around with a score of 35.1250. She scored an 8.800 in the vault and an 8.875 in the uneven bars. Ballis had a score of 8.475 in the balance beam and 8.975 in the floor exercise.
Neveah Strohfus came in 24th in the all around with a score of 34.1750. She had a score of 9.000 in the vault and 8.150 in the uneven bars. Strohfus had a score of 8.400 in the balance beam and 8.625 in the floor exercise.
Ava Petersen came in 26th in the all around with a score of 34.0250. She had a score of 8.575 in the vault and 8.400 in the uneven bars. Petersen had a score of 7.925 in the balance beam and 9.125 in the floor exercise.
Lexi Norgaard came in 48th in the all around. She had a score of 7.700 in the uneven bars and 8.775 in the balance beam. Norgaard had a score of 8.200 in the floor exercise.
The Bobcats will compete in the state meet in Watertown on Feb. 14-15.
