Brookings Chamber to host cybersecurity and technology summit

BROOKINGS – The Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce will partner with the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber and the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce to bring the Midwest Cybersecurity and Technology Summit to the region on Aug. 2.

Brookings will act as a host site for the summit, giving its regional partners the opportunity to gather and watch the summit as it is live streamed from Fargo, North Dakota. This is followed by a panel of experts that attendees can interact with during and following the session including Dakota State University, one of few universities in the country to offer a Cyber Leadership and Intelligence program.

The summit will feature keynote addresses and panels of national experts and industry leaders in the realm of cybersecurity and technology starting with Palo Alto Networks delivering the keynote address followed by a New Frontier panel and the Tech Integration panel. Event wrap-up will be by Shawn Riley, chief information officer of the state of North Dakota.

Local experts for the in-person panel from 11 a.m. to noon are:

• Jamie Gieseke of Paradigm Futures

• David Zen of Dakota State University

• Jon Waldman, owner and founder of SBS Cybersecurity

• Ashley Podhradsky of Dakota State University is the moderator.
