The Brookings Cubs were ranked fourth in Class A in the only South Dakota Amateur Baseball Poll of the 2024 season.
The Cubs were behind the defending champion Sioux Falls Brewers, the Renner Monarchs and the Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels. The Yankton Tappers rounded out the top five in Class A.
Brookings (9-2) had its game in Renner get rained out on Monday night. The Cubs will return to the diamond on Wednesday as they play at the Milroy (Minnesota) Irish.
The defending champions were also ranked first in Class B as Canova Gang has the top spot in the lower class. They were followed by the Dell Rapids Mudcats and the Winner-Colome Pheasants. The Tabor Bluebirds were fourth and the Lake Norden Lakers were fifth. The Flandreau Cardinals just missed out on the top five as they were sixth.
