BROOKINGS — For the second consecutive year, Brookings Hospital has been recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best-In-State Hospitals.
This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on Oct. 23 and can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.
Brookings Hospital was again the only South Dakota hospital on the list recognized with a Patient Experience Award. The award denotes hospitals with outstanding performance in patient experience, highlighting their dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. To receive the additional recognition, hospitals must have all 10 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems measures rated within the top 40%. At least three of the 10 HCAHPS measures must be rated in the top 15%, highlighting areas of outstanding achievement. Additionally, four or more measures must be ranked in the top 10%, reaching the 90th percentile or higher, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to excellence in critical performance areas.
The America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking identifies the top hospitals at the state level. Hospitals from all US states were eligible for the ranking and included in the nationwide survey. Four data sources were used for the evaluation.
This spring Brookings Health System was named a Top 20 Rural Community Hospital for the seventh time by the National Rural Health Association and a World’s Best Hospital by Newsweek and Statista Inc. To learn more about Brookings Health System’s high-quality care, visit brookingshealth.org/Quality.
