BROOKINGS — The Brookings boys’ tennis team came away with a win in a dual against Sioux Falls Washington on Tuesday at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts.
The Bobcats won five of the nine matches that were played, winning three singles and two doubles.
Brodie McCarty beat Mason Iery 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 singles match. Andrew Hahn topped Derek Yasulin 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 5 match and Xavier St. Pierre topped Corey Schneider 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 match. Zach Mueller fell to Harold Mayer 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 match. Braylon Peters lost 6-0, 6-1 to Eli Boyd in the No. 2 match. In the No. 3 match Carson Kreie lost to Thomas Bauer. Kreie won the first set 6-4 but then lost the next set 6-3 and Bauer took the final set 10-2.
Peters and Kreie fell to Mayer and Boyd 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles match. Mueller and McCarty beat Bauer and Scheider 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 2 match and Hahn and St. Pierre topped Iery and Yauslin 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 3 match.
Brookings will host both Aberdeen Central and Huron on Saturday. The first match will begin at 10 a.m.
