Five Brookings students competed last Saturday at the South Dakota Regional Science Bowl.
After the morning Round Robin tournament of 14 teams, Brookings was seeded in first place. That took them into the afternoon Double Elimination tournament with the top eight teams. Brookings went undefeated and claimed the Regional Science Bowl Champion award. That win entitles them to an all-expense-paid trip to the Science Bowl National Tournament in Washington, D.C., in late April.
The winning team included Mallory Wells, Cole Knutzen, Vanessa An, Nancy Yang and Sampada Nepal. In addition, Yang won the top individual player of the day.
