MITCHELL — The Brookings soccer teams each came away with a win over Mitchell on Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcat girls beat the Kernels 1-0 and the boys won 2-0. Each team will play in Yankton on Tuesday. The boys will kick things off at 5 p.m. and the girls will follow at 7 p.m.
Shae Lefers scored the lone goal of the game. She found the back of the next 60th minute of the game and was assisted by Josie Hegerfeld.
Lefers had one shot on goal. Aubrey Giard had two shots on goal and Lexi Erp had three shots on goal. Aubrey Knutzen had two shots and one was on goal and Hegerfeld had one shot on goal. Isabel Eide had one shot.
Forrest Giard continued his strong start to the season as he netted two more goals. The first came in the 12th minute and he was assisted by Connor Shelden. His second goal came on a free kick in the 60th minute.
Giard had five shots and three of them were on goal. Shelden had six shots on goal and Keller Peterson had two shots and one was on goal. Zachary Mueller and Eric Anderson each had a shot on goal. Caylon Peters had one shot.
Sawyer Steen was the Bobcat goalkeeper and he made four saves.
