Candace (Candi) L. Rochel (née Klosterman), 73, of Elkton, SD, passed away on March 13, 2025, one day prior to her birthday, after a long hard-fought battle with colon cancer.
She died in her home while in the care of her partner, Bob, and home hospice.
A family prayer service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, at the Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Elkton, SD. A public visitation celebrating her life will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. also on Saturday at the chapel with a private family burial at Elkton City cemetery. Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Candi was born March 14, 1951, in Hendricks, MN, the daughter of Myles and Frances (Walsh) Klosterman.
Candi is survived by her life-partner, Robert (Bob) Thompson of 37 years; her son, Brent (Lori) Andersen; her daughter, Shannon Rochel (Tyrell Ehnes); her sister, Kay (Don) Simon; and her brother Don (Verlyn) Klosterman; her grandchildren: Andrew Andersen (Kendra VanDerostyne), Taylor Andersen, Seth Andersen (Alexis Krantz), Chelsea (Garrett) Abrahamsen, Makenna (Geoff) Wright, Gavin Andersen, and Daniel Andersen; her great-grandchildren: Aydenn and Emilia Warrick; and Gemma and Malcolm Wright; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Klosterman, Viva (Charles) Alberts, Deb (Les) Burlage; her brother-in-law, Dean (Maureen) Andersen; her mother-in-law, Helen Andersen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Candi is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Andersen; her first husband, Daniel Andersen; her parents, Myles and Frances Klosterman; Stepmother, Ruth Klosterman; her brothers: Tom Klosterman and Jim Klosterman; her sister-in-law, Dorothey Klosterman; and her father-in-law, J.W. Andersen.
