BROOKINGS — Julie Puetz, market president of BankStar Financial Brookings, recently announced the addition of Chad Broksieck to the BankStar lending team.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chad to our team and know he is going to be a big asset to our customers,” said Puetz. “His deep roots in the community, combined with his passion for helping others succeed, align perfectly with BankStar’s mission and values.”
Broksieck is a Brookings native who graduated from both Brookings High School and South Dakota State University. After a brief stint in Phoenix, he and his wife returned to Brookings, where they have resided ever since. Chad’s wife is a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary and together they have raised two sons, both grown and pursuing professional careers of their own.
With decades of experience in the financial services industry, Broksieck brings a strong background in commercial lending. His focus on relationship banking and personalized service has made him a trusted advisor to many.
“At my core, I am a community banker,” said Broksieck, “I enjoy providing strong customer service by being quick and responsive to my customers’ needs. So many of them feel more like friends than customers over time, and I truly value that process. Building long-term relationships is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.”
Puetz added, “Chad’s years of local commercial lending experience and his genuine approach to customer service make him an ideal fit for our team. We are excited for our customers to get to know him.”
BankStar Financial is a locally owned community bank with branches in Brookings, Elkton, and Volga. BankStar is proudly approaching a century of service, with its 100th anniversary coming in 2026.
