The SDSU School of Performing Arts will host its biennial Christmasse Madrigal Feast, a cherished holiday tradition for over 30 years, from Nov. 30 through Dec. 3.
Madrigal guests are immersed in the festive ambiance of a Renaissance-styled banquet and a performance that for many in Brookings and surrounding areas is the official kick off the holiday season.
A captivating four-course meal, complete with a wassail toast by the leading lord and lady of the manor and figgy pudding dessert, is interjected with stellar performances by the SDSU choral program.
“Madrigal Feaste attendees are treated to an extraordinary blend of era-appropriate music, costumes, acting, and décor,” said Laura Diddle, who holds the Paul and Doris Moriarty Chair Professor of Choral Activities. “This celebration captures the magic of the holidays in every note and nuance.”
Seating is limited and is reserved through a link found by searching the word “Madrigal” on the sdstate.edu website. For additional information or assistance, call Andie in the SDSU School of Performing Arts at 605-688-5188.
