The Colman-Egan Hawks opened the season with a win, defeating the Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks 71-10 on Tuesday night.
The Hawks took a 15-8 lead at the end of the first quarter before out-scoring E/H 32-0 in the second quarter to take a 47-8 lead into halftime. C-E won the third quarter by a score of 24-2 before both teams played through a scoreless fourth quarter.
Brynlee Landis led the way for C-E with 24 points. Jolie Flatten had 12 points and four steals. Kaylee Voelker had 11 points and four steals and Presley Luze had eight points. Quinn Meyer had seven points and four steals.
The Hawks shot 52 percent from the floor including 7-for-20 (35%) on 3-pointers. The Hawks made 8-of-10 (80%) free throws and grabbed five rebounds while turning the ball over 11 times. C-E had 24 steals as a team.
After winning their opener, the Hawks will host Arlington on Friday night.
