NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley came from behind in the fourth quarter on Tuesday night and beat the Sioux Valley girls’ basketball team 73-65 on Tuesday night.
Each team scored 15 points in the first quarter and Dakota Valley led 38-37 at halftime. The Cossacks then outscored the Panthers in the third and led 47-44 heading into the fourth. Dakota Valley had a 19-8 advantage in the final quarter.
The Cossacks shot 43.4% from the field and were 16-of-37 from three. Sioux Valley was led by Kailey Cradduck who had 25 points, six rebounds and six assists. Talya Vincent had 21 points and five rebounds. Liberty Trygstad had 15 points and six assists.
The Panthers shot 41.7% from the field and were 5-of-14 from beyond the arc. Ella Otten led Dakota Valley with 23 points and five rebounds. Cameryn Sommervold and Aubree Worden each had 16 points. Katie Betsworth had 12 points.
The Cossacks had a 30-23 advantage in rebounds. Sioux Valley had 27 turnovers and Dakota Valley had 14. The Cossacks were 3-of-4 at the free throw line and the Panthers were 18-of-22.
Sioux Valley is now 11-4 on the season. The Cossacks will return home on Friday and host Flandreau at 7:30 p.m.
