Three area volleyball teams came away with victories on Tuesday night as Sioux Valley, Colman-Egan and Flandreau all won.
Sioux Valley swept Parker, Colman-Egan topped Arlington in five sets and Flandreau beat Florence/Henry in four sets. Elkton-Lake Benton fell to Castlewood in four sets in other area action.
PARKER — The Cossacks made quick work of the Pheasants on Tuesday night, winning the three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-15.
Kaedyn Sapp led the way with 13 kills, 12 digs and one ace for Sioux Valley. Adison Renkly had 10 kills, 10 digs and three blocks. Sunny Hesby had 12 assists and four aces. Caitlin Russell had 10 digs and Machaela Gerasch had 12 assists. Keyra Kruse had four kills and two blocks.
Sioux Valley is now 3-0 and plays at Beresford on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
COLMAN — The Hawks came away with the five-set victory after winning the final two sets.
Colman-Egan led 1-0 after a 25-21 win in set one. Arlington then won back-to-back sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-20. Colman-Egan then avoided a loss with a 25-17 win in the fourth set and then took the match with a 15-11 victory in set five.
The Hawks were led by Brynlee Landis who had 10 kills and 13 digs. Finley Luze had eight kills, 13 assists and three aces. Anna Zwart had nine kills and Elaina Rhode had seven kills. Kaylee Voelker had 23 assists and 12 digs. Presley Luze had 25 digs.
Halley Miller had 11 kills and six blocks for the Cardinals. Rachel Steffensen had 12 kills and Jaelyn Huntimer had 20 digs. Sony Johnson had 33 assists.
Colman-Egan is 1-1 and plays De Smet in Colman on Thursday at 7 p.m. Arlington is now 0-2 and hosts Iroquois/Lake Preston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
FLANDREAU — The Fliers dropped the first set on Tuesday night but then rattled off three-straight set wins to get the victory.
The Falcons took set one 25-22 and Flandreau responded with a 28-26 victory in set two. The Fliers then took a 2-1 lead with a 25-14 win in set three and won the match with a 25-15 victory in set four.
Sadie Iott had 23 kills to lead the Fliers. Ella Hoffman had eight kills. Morgan Kontz had 30 digs. Aly Schiepel and LAyla Latterell each had 14 assists. Latterell also had 15 digs. Olivia Peters had two blocks and Hannah Krull had one.
Roean Raymer led the Falcons with 10 kills. Andie Rislov had 30 assists and 25 digs. Kaylee Vavruska had 22 digs and 22 assists.
Flandreau is now 1-2 and plays at Hamlin on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
ELKTON — The Lady Elks avoided the sweep but the Warriors won in four sets.
Castlewood won the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-13. ELB then responded with a 25-9 win in set four but then fell 25-22 in set four.
The Lady Elks were led by Addison Renkly who had nine kills and nine digs. Charlie Thooft had 10 digs and two aces. Malyha Slegers had 20 assists.
Elkton-Lake Benton is now 0-2 and plays Oldham-Ramona-Rutland in Rutland on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
