Deubrook Area and Arlington both dropped games in boys basketball on Monday night. The Dolphins fell to Madison and the Cardinals lost to Sioux Falls Lutheran.
WHITE — It was a tough night for the Dolphins. They were outscored 25-10 in the first quarter and then Madison extended the lead to 49-29 by halftime. The Bulldogs took a 69-44 lead into the fourth quarter and outscored the Dolphins 20-11 in the final frame.
Deuborok was led by Josh Moberg who had 18 points. Chance Schoenfeld had 12 points and Braxton Bednarek had eight points. Isaac Gass and Charlie Olsen each had six points and Carson Engelstad had five points.
Deubrook dropped to 3-4 and plays Iroquois/Lake Preston in Lake Preston on Thursday at 7:45 p.m.
ARLINGTON — The Cardinals struggled in the second and third quarter and that led to the loss on Monday.
Each team scored 17 points in the first quarter. Sioux Falls Lutheran then outscored Arlington 16-8 in the second and had a 33-25 lead heading into halftime.
The Eagles extended the lead to 50-36 heading into the fourth. Arlington outscored SFL 18-13 in the final quarter.
Arlington shot 34.9% from the field and was 5-of-27 from three. The Cardinals were led by Paxton Rheault, who had 24 points and 13 rebounds. Leilan Farstad had 11 points and Sergio Maldonado had nine points. Miles Antonen had eight points.
SFL shot 38.3% from the field and was 7-of-29 from three. Sam Borg had 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the Eagles. Rowen Becker had 15 points and six rebounds.
Arlington fell to 1-4 on the season. The Cardinals host De Smet on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
