Deubrook Area swept Flandreau in area volleyball action on Tuesday night and Elkton-Lake Benton fell to Hamlin in five sets on Monday night.
FLANDREAU — The Dolphins swept the Fliers, but two of the three sets were close. Deubrook came away with a 25-15 in set one and then won sets two and three by scores of 25-22 and 25-23.
Zoey Molengraaf led the Dolphins with eight kills, six blocks and two aces. Kylee Johnson had 13 digs, four kills and two aces. Matte Bauman had 25 assists and three aces. Chloe Haines and Rhiley Grenz each had five kills. Haines had eight digs and Carly Engelstad had nine digs.
The Fliers were led by Sadie Iott who had 10 kills and 18 digs. Morgan Kontz had 19 digs and Aly Schepel had 16 assists. Ella Hoffman had seven kills.
Deubrook improved to 4-2 and plays in the Arlington Tournament on Saturday. Flandreau is now 3-4 and plays in the Big East Tournament in Baltic on Thursday.
ELKTON — It was a tough loss for the Elks as they came up short on Monday. Hamlin won the first set 25-23 and followed that with a 25-16 win in set two. ELB didn’t go away though as the Elks won the next two sets 25-16 and 25-17. However, the Chargers won the winner take all set 15-9.
The Elks were led by Andrea Renkly who had 19 kills and 13 digs. Charlie Thooft had 13 kills and 11 digs. Malyha Slegers had 36 assists and Quinn Slegers had 10 digs. Maya Jensen had six kills.
ELB fell to 1-3 and plays at Colman-Egan on Thursday at 7 p.m.
