Edith Pecks, age, 88 of Thermopolis, Wyoming, died Feb 1, 2025, at Thermopolis Rehab and Wellness.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at Ellsworth Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour preceding the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Canova Cemetery.
Edith Elaine Seuberling was born in Canova, South Dakota June 4, 1936, to Frank and Frieda (Stangohr) Seuberling. Edith attended Canova Public School graduating in 1954. Edith attended General Beadle State Teachers College (now Dakota State University) graduating in 1956 with a two-year certificate to teach elementary education. Edith started her teaching career in Arlington, South Dakota in 1956, and then Jasper, Minnesota in 1959, and Ruthton, Minnesota in 1960. Edith was married to Dwayne Pecks Dec. 28, 1960, making their first home in Ruthton, MN. They then moved to Russell, Minnesota, where she also taught. After moving to Ivanhoe, Minnesota in 1966, she was very involved in women’s groups and craft activities making lifetime friends.
She re-entered the workforce at the Eagle Cafe and later at First Bank where she worked until Dwayne retired in 1989. Edith joined the Mary Kay sales team in the 1980’s which she truly enjoyed. A highlight being attending the Mary Kay annual conference in Dallas, TX. After Dwayne’s retirement as Superintendent of Ivanoe and Lake Benton, Minnesota, schools they moved to Edith’s grandfathers homestead in Canova, South Dakota where they resided until 2007, moving to Madison, South Dakota. For many years Dwayne and Edith enjoyed being “Winter Texans”, meeting and making many more friends. Anyone meeting Edith will remember her smile, sense of humor, and touch of mischief. Even as her dementia progressed, she was always happy to see you, greeting you with a big smile.

Those grateful for having shared her life include her husband of sixty-four years, Dwayne, also of Thermopolis, WY; daughter Margie Molitor and her husband Leon of Thermopolis, WY; daughter Barb Pecks of St. Paul, MN; grandson Nathan Molitor and granddaughter Megan Molitor both residing in Sheridan, WY and great-grandson Branston; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends.
Edith was preceded in death by her infant son John Michael Pecks, her parents, and sisters Alyce Lundberg, Lola Gunderson, and Janet Balster.
