Elect Johnson and Juba for Brookings School Board

Posted

It has been my privilege to work with Teri Johnson the past 3 years on the Brookings School Board. Teri has exceptional leadership skills and has proven herself to be an effective board member. Her service to others as a pastor and SDSU instructor is extended to her work on the board. She is thoughtful in decision making and her perspective comes from a passion for education and her strong desire to meet the needs of ALL students and families. A caring attitude and her ability to listen and hear others, rather than to listen and respond to others, is a unique skill that Teri brings to the table. Her comments and input bring insight to board discussions. Teri has served our board on the School Finance and the Performance and Oversight sub-committees.

Like Teri, Cassie Juba is dedicated to meeting the needs of her students at the tutoring center she created in downtown Brookings, PLAY (Personalized Learning Adventures for Youth). Cassie understands that learning can be a struggle for some students and that struggle can extend to the whole family. Her innovative ideas have demonstrated her ability to work through challenges and bring success to her students and families. As a small business owner, Cassie is knowledgeable in budgeting, grant writing, advocating, and is a strong voice for education. She works with our district teachers and attends Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that involve her students. Cassie’s skills as a small business owner, background in education, and work with teachers in our district make her an excellent candidate for the Brookings Board of Education.

Keep our Brookings School District moving forward and working to meet the needs of students and families in Brookings. It is with my highest recommendation that I ask you to cast your vote for Teri Johnson and Cassie Juba for Brookings Board of Education.
