EMTs provide valuable services in Brookings

I am disabled; I had polio as a child and am now confined to a wheelchair.

This last month or so has been extra difficult with weakness bought on by dehydration. Transfers from bed to wheelchair have been especially difficult.

Calling for help is the hardest thing in the world for me; thank God for Brookings Ambulance and the wonderful EMTs, making a difficult time much easier to deal with.

As I work through government systems to find better solutions, it means the world to me to have them when I need to call for help, generally coming in smiling and seeming glad to help, often with kind words and positive suggestions.

Brookings is so lucky to have their service and to the disabled like me they are truly a godsend! I cannot thank them enough! I hate having to call and ask for help and hate the thought that I am a burden in any way. Thank you to all wonderful first responders and care workers at Brookings Health System.
