Fern Eeten, 78, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls. She lived courageously with cancer, displaying unwavering hope throughout her journey.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2025, at Community Reformed Church 6800 E 41st St., Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a donation to the Special Olympics or other charitable causes. Fern Elaine Ohm, daughter of George and Mary (Arbeiter) Ohm was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Brookings, South Dakota. Her early life was spent on the family farm near Brookings. She graduated from Brookings High School with the class of 1964. On Feb. 5, 1971, Fern was united in marriage to Arthur “Art” Eeten in Sioux Falls. They created a loving home in Sioux Falls where they raised their children and later helped raise their grandson.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Art of Sioux Falls; son, Roy (Stacey) Eeten of Sioux Falls; daughter, Dawn Eeten of Fort Collins, CO; grandson, Nick Mills of Sioux Falls; sister, Betty (Jim) Skroch of Lake Poinsett, SD; sisters-in-law, Marlys (Ron) Fleisher of Zimmerman, MN, Jeannette Toensing of Minnetonka, MN, and Darlene Eeten of Rock Rapids, IA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
