The Flandreau boys’ basketball team won a pair of games over the weekend. The Fliers beat Tri-Valley on Friday and Lakota Tech on Saturday.
Flandreau is now 4-3 and hosts Madison on Jan. 17 at 6:15 p.m.
FLANDREAU — The Fliers dominated on Friday night as they outscored the Mustangs in every quarter. Flandreau led 16-8 at the end of the first quarter and then took a 31-12 lead into halftime. The Fliers outscored the Mustangs 14-11 in the third quarter and 11-3 in the final frame.
Flandreau shot 50% from the field and was 9-of-21 from three. The Fliers were led by Alfie Henderson who had 11 points. Xavier Bien had nine points. Paul Parsley had seven points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals. Alex Poitra had seven points and three steals. Micah Otto, Kaden Burshiem each had six points.
Tri-Valley shot 22.9% from the field and was 4-of-21 from three. Alex Wingen had six points to lead the Mustangs. Brady Jewett had five points.
VOLGA — The Fliers were able to get out to a big lead and held off the Tatanka in the Round Ball Classic on Saturday.
Flandreau outscored Tri-Valley 14-5 in the first quarter. The Fliers then led 30-19 at halftime. Lakota Tech would cut the lead to 37-34 by the end of the third quarter. However, the Fliers were able to put the game away in the fourth, outscoring Lakota Tech 21-13 in the final quarter.
Flandreau shot 41.2% from the field and was 1-of-12 from three. The Fliers were led by Sheppard who had 21 points and seven rebounds. Parsley had 16 points and five rebounds. Otto and Kody Kneebone each had eight points.
Lakota Tech shot 36.2% from the field and was 8-of-20 from three. Julian Tonche led the Tatanka with 20 points. Sam Treyton had 13 points and six rebounds.
