SALEM — The Flandreau boys’ and girls’ cross country team each finished in second place at the McCook Central/Montrose Invite on Tuesday.
The Flier girls had 21 team points to finish in second. Faith Wiese won the race with a time of 19:16.73. Josie Hamilton finished in eighth (22:43.28) and Kiley Westberry came in 16th (23:14.28). Morgan Sheppard came in 23rd (24:34.27) and Hailey Lahr finished in 32nd (26:03.90).
The boys had a total of 27 points to come in second. Logan Kontz was the top finisher for the Fliers coming in 10th place with a time of 19:50.43. Brenton Westberry finished in 12th (19:57.76) and Kaden Burshiem came in 15th (19:59.80).
Wyatt Kontz came in 17th (20:05.06) and Franklin Donis Castillo came in 19th (20:28.94). Sam Schmidt came in 23rd (20:31.91) and Teague Bergjord finished in 31st (20:50.82). Daniel Hobbie came in 36th (21:11.10) and Kenton James came in 39th (21:32.35). Benjamin Kulm finished in 47th (22:12.97) and Nathaniel Hobbie rounded things out for the Fliers, coming in 51st (22:39.92).
