Brookings County State’s Attorney Dan Nelson presents Detective Geoffrey Pollman with the Officer of the Year award presented at the Optimist Respect for Law Breakfast held recently.

Pollman goes above and beyond in his efforts to keep our community safe by providing thorough investigations in our most sensitive cases.

Pollman has been employed with the Brookings Police Department since March 2014. Pollman worked as a patrol officer for eight years and is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division as a detective. He was previously employed with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office as a part-time correctional officer from May 2012 to March 2014. During that time period, Detective Corporal Pollman volunteered his time with the Brookings Police Department as a reserve officer.

He also serves the community as an officer in the South Dakota Army National Guard. He was the Brookings Police Department Employee of the Year in 2024.
