Colman-Egan and Deubrook Area advanced in Class B high school volleyball playoff action on Tuesday night. The Hawks and Dolphins each swept their opponent in the quarterfinals of their respective regions.
Colman-Egan took down Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in Region 3B and Deubrook beat Estelline/Hendricks in Region 2B. Iroquois/Lake Preston was swept by Castlewood in other Region 2B action.
COLMAN — It was smooth sailing for the Hawks on Tuesday night as they moved onto the semifinals. C-E won the three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-16.
Brynlee Landis led the Hawks with 16 kills and five digs. Kaylee Voelker had 13 assists and eight digs. Finley Luze had nine assists and five kills and Elaina Rhode had five digs.
The Blackhawks were led by Addi Bartholow who had 14 digs and four kills. Kaylie Robinson had nine digs and five kills. Liz Boschee had six kills and Kenzie Schley and Kali Hofer each had nine assists.
The Hawks will travel to Salem on Thursday and take on Bridgewater-Emery at 7:15 p.m. with a trip to the SoDak 16 on the line.
CASTLEWOOD — The Redhawks fought hard but the Dolphins still came away with the three-set sweep.
Matte Bauman led the Dolphins with 25 assists and 19 digs. Zoey Molengraff had 12 kills, four blocks and three aces. Kylee Johnson had 18 digs and seven kills. Matti Ramlo had 14 digs.
The Dolphins will take on Wolsey-Wessington in Arlington on Thursday at 8 p.m.
CASTLEWOOD — It was a tough end to the season for the Sharks as the Warriors took care of business on Tuesday night.
In the final match of the season ILP was led by Brityn Davies who had 24 assists. Hadlee Holt had four kills and two blocks. Trinity Pirlet had 13 digs and Kera Dubro had four kills.
The Sharks finished the season with a record of 7-24.
