The matchups for this year’s Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic for boys and girls basketball have been announced.
The girls classic will be held on Dec. 16 at the Colman-Egan School. Games will be held in the auxiliary gym and the main guy, In the auxiliary gym Iroquois/Lake Preston and Deuel will kick things off at 12 p.m. Oldham-Ramona/Rutland and Wolsey-Wessington will follow at 1:30 p.m. De Smet and Baltic will play at 3 p.m. and Sioux Valley and Dell Rapids St. Mary will play at 4:30 p.m. Madison and Castlewood will close things out in the auxiliary gym at 5 p.m.
In the main gym Estelline/Hendricks and Hamlin will start things at 12:30 p.m. Chester Area and Elkton-Lake Benton will follow at 2 p.m. Colman-Egan and Dell Rapids will play at 3:30 and Garretson and Deubrook Area will follow at 5 p.m. Flandreau and Arlington will wrap things up at 6:30 p.m.
The boys classic will be held on Dec. 30 and will be held at Brookings High School. Games will be played in the auxiliary and the main gym. Arlington and ORR will get things started in the auxiliary gym at 11:30 a.m. ELB and Waverly-South Shore will play at 1 p.m. Estelline/Hendricks and Deuel will follow at 2:30 p.m. and Garretson and Iroquois/Lake Preston will play at 4 p.m. Baltic matches up with Deubrook Area at 5:30 p.m. and Chester Area and De Smet will close things out in the auxiliary gym at 7 p.m.
The Brookings and Yankton girls will kick things off in the main gym at 12 p.m. The Brookings and Yankton boys will follow at 1:30 p.m. Colman-Egan and Flandreau will play at 3 p.m. and Madison and Castlewood will follow at 4:30 p.m. Dell Rapids St. Mary and Sioux Valley will play at 6 p.m. and Dell Rapids and Hamlin will close things out in Brookings at 7:30 p.m.
This will be the 30th annual boys classic and the 26th annual girls classic. There has been $1,080,000 given out in scholarships over the past 30 years.
