The area volleyball slate was dominated by sweeps as Colman-Egan, Elkton-Lake Benton, Estelline/Hendricks and Deubrook all picked up wins in straight sets on Thursday night.
• Colman-Egan 3, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0
COLMAN — The Hawks swept the Sharks on Thursday night, winning in three sets 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.
Daniela Lee paced the Hawks in both aspects of the game, leading C-E with 10 kills and 17 digs. Elaina Rhode had eight kills and a block while Lanie Mousel had six kills to go with a team-high 13 assists and an ace.
Lee added two blocks while Kaylee Voelker had three blocks to lead the Hawks. Rhod Aleigha Lange and Anna Zwart also had one block each for the Hawks.
Presley Luze had 16 digs and Voelker had 10 digs. Zwart had two aces while Rhode, Lange and Mousel each had one ace.
Adison Moore had six kills and 10 digs for the Sharks while Hadlee Holt had four kills, five blocks, 14 digs and two aces. Elena Campaganlo had 16 digs, one kill and four aces while Rebecca Bich led ILP with a team-high 19 assists.
Faith Steffensen had 18 digs, three kills and two blocks while Kera Dubro had five kills and seven digs.
Colman-Egan improved to 6-1 on the season and 4-1 in conference play and will play Castlewood at the Hamlin Tournament on Saturday.
ILP fell to 2-5 on the season and will take part in the Lake Preston Invitational on Saturday.
• Elkton-Lake Benton 3, De Smet 0
ELKTON — The Elks swept the Bulldogs, winning in three sets 25-15, 25-6, 25-10 on Thursday night.
Aubree Bales and Kylie Ramlo led the Elks with five kills each while Tevan Erickson and Andrea Renkly also had four kills each.
Ella Crofutt had 13 digs in the win while Ramlo had 10 digs, Charlie Thooft had seven digs and Bales and Erickson each had six digs.
Bales had a team-high four blocks while Erickson had three blocks to go with 17 assists. Ramlo had two blocks while Thooft, Maya Jensen and Keira Larson each had one block.
Ramlo and Renkly had three aces each while Malayna Hemmen and Thooft had two aces each. Sydney De Vries also had one ace in the win.
The Elks improved to 5-6 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. ELB will return to action when it hosts Baltic on Tuesday.
• Estelline/Hendricks 3, Oldham/Ramona-Rutland 0
ESTELLINE — The Redhawks swept the Raiders, winning in three sets 25-16, 25-18, 25-12 on Thursday night.
Camlin Schneider led the Raiders with six kills while Julia Trygstad had three kills. Trygstad and teammate Alivia Bickett also had eight digs. Trygstad also tied with Schneider for the team lead in blocks with two each.
Rylan Pearson had five assists and Emily Matson had four assists. Schneider, Bickett, Pearson and Matson also had one ace each in the loss.
The Redhawks improved to 12-1 and will take part in the Lake Preston Invitational on Saturday.
The Raiders fell to 3-5 with the loss and will host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Saturday afternoon.
• Deubrook 3, Dell Rapids St. Mary 0
WHITE — The Dolphins took care of the Cardinals in three sets on Thursday night, completing the sweep by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-18.
Zoey Molengraaf had eight kills for the Dolphins while Matte Bauman had six kills. Madalyn Bauman had a team-high 13 assists while Matte Bauman had nine assists.
Delaney Pederson and Hanna Kjelden had 12 digs each while Syarra Blum had 10 blocks and Mataya Gouws had eight blocks. Molengaaf and Matte Bauman each had two aces in the win.
Deubrook improved to 3-7 with the win and will host Deuel on Tuesday night.
• Flandreau 3, Baltic 0
FLANDREAU — The Fliers were swept by the Bulldogs on Thursday night, falling in three sets 18-25, 11-25, 23-25.
Claire Sheppard and Lizzie Pavlis each had five kills and Sheppard added three blocks on defense. Abby Schoberl had nine assists while Olivia Peters had three assists. Lily Klein had 14 digs and Schoberl had 12 digs.
Pavlis had three aces while Schoberl and Hayden Neises each had one ace.
The Fliers fell to 7-6 on the season and will travel to McCook Central/Montrose on Tuesday night.
• Castlewood 3, Arlington 0
ARLINGTON — The Warriors swept the Cardinals, winning in three sets 26-24, 25-20, 25-18 on Thursday night.
Addie Steffensen led the Cardinals with 12 kills while Harley Johnson had 11 kills. Isabelle Steffensen had 29 assists to go with 17 digs and a pair of aces while Johnson had 20 digs.
The Cardinals fell to 4-8 on the season and will take part in the Lake Preston Invitational on Saturday.
