Two area basketball teams finished the regular season on Friday. Iroquois/Lake Preston picked up a victory over Sunshine Bible Academy and Arlington fell to Clark/Willow Lake.
• Iroquois/Lake Preston 61, Sunshine Bible Academy 40
IROQUOIS — The Sharks improved to 4-16 with the victory. They led 21-14 at the end of the first quarter and then took a 39-21 lead into halftime. ILP extended its lead to 48-28 at the end of the third and was able to cruise to victory.
Josh McMasters led the Sharks with 30 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Lucas Peskey had 13 points.
The Sharks are the No. 6 seed in the Region 2B Playoffs and play No. 3 Wolsey-Wessington on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Castlewood.
• Clark/Willow Lake 64, Arlington 33
CLARK — It was a tough night for the Cardinals. They fell behind 17-4 in the first quarter and then trailed 34-16 at halftime. The Cyclones extended their lead to 54-19 at the end of the third and Arlington outscored CWL 14-10 in the fourth quarter.
Arlington shot 22% from the field and was 5-of-18 from three. Riley Miller had 13 points and four rebounds to lead the Cardinals.
CWL shot 40.4% from the field and was 12-of-27 from three. The Cyclones were led by Sullivan Felberg who had 16 points. Emmerson Larson had 14 points and eight rebounds.
Arlington dropped to 3-17 after the loss. The Cardinals are the No. 8 seed in the Region 2B Playoffs and will host No. 9 Flandreau Indian on Monday at 6 p.m.
