Leonard Lloyd Kirschenmann, 85, passed away on Nov. 17, 2024, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Lloyd was born in New Underwood, South Dakota, to Leonard and Mabel Kirschenmann, in 1939. He attended Brookings High School before graduating from South Dakota State University.
Lloyd was a well-known photographer and established several studios known as Mr. K Photography in Brookings and Rapid City, South Dakota, and Cedar Falls, Iowa.
He enjoyed singing in choirs and playinghis trombone in the SDSU alumni band.
He is survived by his children, Pam (James) Maxey, Batavia, IL; Kyle (Laura) Kirschenmann, Tellico Plains, TN; Scott (Andrea) Kirschenmann, Cedar Falls, IA; grandchildren: Zachary (Tessa) Kirschenmann; Sam, Levi, Jane and Lauren Maxey; Shaffer, Harrison, Eliza and Maguire Kirschenmann; great-granddaughter, Maya Kirschenmann; siblings Lola (Lyle) Rapp, Arlington, SD, Ken (Hazel) Kirschenmann, Huntington, WV, and Kay Lindley, Graniteville, SC; and the mother of his children, Donna Kirschenmann.
He is predeceased by his wife, Karen, his parents, his brother, Karl, and his brother-in-law, Chuck Lindley.
Interment will take place at a future date.
