BROOKINGS — First Presbyterian Church invites the community to join in on an afternoon of exceptional music, from classical to contemporary, showcasing top student musicians from South Dakota State University. Each talented individual will perform vocal or instrumental music that they are preparing for state competition.
The performers, who have been arranged by Anna DeGraff and Michael Walsh, music faculty at SDSU, will be John Pfeifer (piano), Katie Brenholt (soprano), Emily Hofer (flute), Jude Ortmeier (baritone), Joseph Cassady (clarinet), Katie Holt (soprano), Elijas Clark (piano), Levi Gebhard (saxophone), Emma Jensen (soprano), and accompanists Melanie Timmerman, Deb Kalsbeck, and Xuan Kuang.
The concert is free and open to all, though a freewill offering will be accepted. The charity chosen by the student performers to receive the offering is Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, currently focused on hurricane relief efforts in the U.S. The concert will be Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 405 Seventh Ave.
Come support these amazing students and enjoy an afternoon of beautiful music. Your presence will make a difference.
