Nadine Jones, 103, formerly of Aurora, SD passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Funeral Services have been set for 10:30am, Monday, January 6, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Brookings, SD. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Brookings, SD with a 4:30pm Prayer Service.
Agnes Nadine Jones was born on Aug. 10,1921, in Lincoln County, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Robert J. and Blanche (Edmondson) DeMint.
Nadine received her education in rural school in Moody County, SD. She was united in marriage to Billy B. Jones on Dec. 15,1948, in Brookings, SD. After their marriage, Nadine dedicated her life to raising her family. In her later years she was employed at the United Retirement Center and at SDSU Food Service for several years. Billy and Nadine farmed near Aurora from 1952 until their retirement in 1997.
Nadine enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful cook, baker, and gardener. She loved sharing her delicious food items and produce with family and friends. She especially enjoyed making homemade pies, doughnuts, divinity, and bread. Nadine also loved doing jigsaw puzzles, playing card games, embroidery, and an occasional trip to the casino. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, the Do-More Hobby Club, and the VFW Auxiliary.
Nadine is survived by her seven children: David Jones, Dennis (Terri) Jones, Laura Mills, Robert (Kim) Jones, James (Tami) Jones, Lisa George, and Bradley (Julie) Jones; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Billy in 2020, her parents, her brother (Ray), and her grandson (Geoffrey).
