RAPID CITY — One person died and another was seriously injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash near Rapid City.
The names of the persons involved — a 44-year-old Rapid City man who died, and a 56-year-old Rapid City man with serious, life-threatening injuries — have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates the 44-year-old was driving a 2007 Mazda 3 eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near mile marker 53.
The 56-year-old was driving a 2001 Ford F350 westbound in the same lane when the Mazda collided with the Ford head-on.
The driver of the Mazda died at the scene. The driver of the Ford sustained serious, life-threatening injuries.
