The junior varisty Rangers lost and tied games with visiting Rushmore over the weekend.
The Rangers were shut out Friday night, ending their long win streak.
Paxtyn Pottorff stopped 27 of 30 shots in goal.
The teams skated to an overtime tie in the rematch.
Jason Ready scored both Brookings goals, including the game-tying effort deep in the third period.
Mavrick Bortnem, Camden Reicks and Parker Nielsen all had helpers.
Ryder Anderson stopped 26 of 28 shots between the pipes.
The Bantam A team completed an afternoon sweep of the Flyers to move to 12-1 in league play.
Atwood Ahmann scored twice while Jack Lovseth had a goal and an assist. Grant Horn had the Rangers’ other tally, with single assists credited to Weston Diers, Colin Jacobson and Kallen Serfling.
Jon Drew got the shutout without much work as Brookings outshot Sioux Falls 20-3.
The Rangers thumped their cross-state rivals as five different Brookings skaters scored.
Ty Harris led the way with four goals. Jasper Pitts had a pair and Maxx Anderson, Beau Luvaas and Landon Schumaker all found the net.
Maxximillion Vanderbush, Blaine Zweber and Maxx Anderson had two assists each for Brookings, while Deacon Trumbo, Luvaas and Pitts got one each.
Warner Caroll made got the shutout as Brookings outshot the Thunder 48-7.
The rematch went much the same as the opener.
\Harris had another four goals with Jackson Hahn chipping in a pair. Vanderbush and Pitts also found twine.
Hahn had a pair of apples, as did Trumbo and Pitts. Liam Heiberger, Zweber and Luvaas all added helpers.
Isaac Haufschild got the win as the Rangers outshot the Thunder 57-5.
The Brookings girls got a tie and a win in home play over the weekend.
Ashton Otteson led the way with a hat trick as the Rangers routed the Miracle.
Brooke Kruse added two goals for Brookings, and Khloe Ziegeldorf, Lorelei Koch an Kahlei Foerster also found the back of the net.
Assists were credited to Brooklyn Nelson with two and Kruse, Sydney Hahn, Jordyn Anderson, Grace Devries, Allie Jacobson, Ziegeldorf and Nola Hogie all with one each.
Aurdrey Andal made 11 stops to earn the win as the Rangers fired 53 on the Yankton cage.
Brookings outshot the visiting Thunder 51-16 but could only manage a tie.
Grace Devries scored twice for Brookings and Ziegeldorf added a shorthanded goal. But Rushmore tied it midway through the third and neither squad could find a goal in OT.
Otteson and Kinley Foerster had assists and Andal made 13 saves in net.
The visiting Thunder took the rematch despite being heavily outshot — this time 46-14.Brookings took a 2-0 lead in the third period on goals from Devries — assist to Jordyn Anderson — and Ziegeldorf off a feed from Kruse. But Rushmore stormed back to tied it on the power play midway through the third, and then found the net in the extra session.
Andal made 11 saves between the pipes.
The Rangers moved to 6-2 in league play with a solid win over the Flyers.
Luke Luvaas, Juke Anderson, Gavin Zweibahmer, Max Harris and Oliver Ahmann all found the back of the net for a balanced Brookings attack.
Myles Anderson, Jacob Myhre, Theo Treml, Ahmann, Branch Otteson and Luvaas all got credit for assists.
Brayden Brintnall earned the win in net for the Rangers, who outshot the Flyers 34-19.
The Rangers hopped out to a 4-0 lead and defeated Sioux Falls to move to 6-1 in SDAHA play.
Cooper Hyde had a pair of goals for Brookings, with Adrian Almhjeld, Knox Frericks and Brodie Bahe each scoring. Spencer Lovseth had an assist.
Nash Billings picked up the win between the pipes as Brookings outshot Sioux Falls 28-11.
