SINAI — Alcohol might have been a factor in an Oct. 12 vehicle rollover north of Sinai that injured an Aberdeen man, who subsequently refused to cooperate with medical staffers at the scene.
Jeremy Hagen, 32, suffered cuts and abrasions on an arm, according to an Oct. 14 news release from the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office. The accident occurred 2 miles north of Sinai on 458th Avenue near 215th Street. Hagen was the sole occupant of the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500.
A deputy responding to an unrelated call in Sinai came upon the scene of the accident. Hagen was taken to the emergency room at Brookings Health System by deputies for treatment, Assistant Sheriff David Biteler wrote. Hagen was subsequently taken to the Brookings County Detention Center, where he was booked on the following charges:
Hagen was no longer in the detention center as of the afternoon of Oct. 15.
Biteler noted that Hagen’s vehicle was listed as a total loss and was recovered by Aurora Auto Body. He added that the sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the accident.
Agencies that responded to the incident were the fire departments from Sinai and Volga, and Brookings Ambulance.
