BROOKINGS — South Dakota State University Early Learning Center, at 401 First Ave. in Brookings is celebrating 10 years of serving the Brookings community with a carnival-themed party on March 28 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The celebration will include current and former families, the local community, as well as university leadership.
Operated in partnership with Bright Horizons, the country's largest provider of employer-sponsored childcare, the center provides support for university parents and the community to balance their work and family life while providing access to high-quality early education and care for their children.
The SDSU Early Learning Center serves 109 children, ages 6 weeks through 5 years old.
“Bright Horizons commends South Dakota State University for its decade long commitment of supporting working parents and families, both at the university and within the Brookings community.” said Jami Behrens, division vice president.
Barb Caulfield, the center's director, is looking forward to celebrating this exciting 10-year birthday milestone and recognizing center employees that have been working there since 2015. Festivities will include carnival activities and games for all ages, SDSU ice cream, and special remarks from SDSU representatives and Bright Horizons leadership.
