The Sioux Valley fourth grade boys’ basketball team is representing South Dakota in the Pacesetter Great Five-State Championship Basketball Tournament.
The Cossacks will be competing in the Target Center in Minneapolis on June 14-15. The Great Five State Tournament is composed of teams from Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Each state champion qualifies by winning their state’s playoff tournament. The Minnesota champion and the Minnesota runner-up receive an invitation, plus two wild-card teams.
Sioux Valley fourth grade Blue qualified for the Pacesetter by winning the Willie Mac Tournament in Brookings on March 29.
Sioux Valley had a season record of 54-7 and won 12 tournament championships this season.
All tournament participants and fans will be attending the Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks game on June 14.
