Special events and kickoff times for South Dakota State’s seven-game home football schedule have been finalized.

The 2025 season kicks off Aug. 30, when the Jackrabbits host Sacramento State in the Precision Ag Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. Central Time at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.

The Jackrabbits will be back under the lights when they return home to face Drake on Sept. 13 in the 58th edition of the Beef Bowl. Start time is set for 6 p.m., with the contest between returning Football Championship Subdivision playoff qualifiers also tabbed as the annual Jacks in Black game.

SDSU closes out the nonconference portion of its schedule with a Sept. 27 Dairy Drive matchup against FCS newcomer Mercyhurst. The matchup, which also has been designated as the Hall of Fame and Pheasant STATE game, is slated for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

The Jackrabbits will continue with afternoon kickoffs for at least three of their four Missouri Valley Football Conference home games. The Oct. 11 Hobo Day game against Northern Iowa, as well as the Nov. 1 meeting with Indiana State and the Nov. 15 matchup against Illinois State, are all scheduled for 2 p.m. starts. The Indiana State game will be Military Appreciation Day, while the Nov. 15 home finale is designated as Senior Day.

As announced earlier, kick time for the Oct. 25 Dakota Marker Game versus North Dakota State will be determined at a later date due to national television coverage.

Season tickets for South Dakota State football are available through JackrabbitTickets.com. Three-game mini plans will go sale July 15, with single-game sales to the general public starting on Aug. 5.

The Jackrabbits have qualified for the FCS playoffs for 13 consecutive seasons and carry a 29-game home winning streak into the 2025 campaign.
